Here are a few shots of the beast that was wearing me out in the action shot below. This fish scaled out at just over 15lbs on KB's digital scale. It was really long and powerful, but not nearly as fat as some of the fish I've caught this year. In general, the fish in the lake are long, skinny, and POWERFUL. They test your knots for sure.

Lordy, Lordy - that is a pig! Great fish and cool photos. I showed a few buddies today and they were impressed. Looks like a blast... GOod thing it was in a lake - I think it'd be really tough to land a huge carp in a river.

water was high J, but you and I will likely still hit that spot. i saw 4-5 grass carp, all over 35 inches long. plenty of fish around to throw flies at, but not quite the experience i was hoping to show you. odds of the water dropping signifigantly by next week are slim.

i think you'll hook some fish though, and might see your backing a time or two!
