Alaska

Just me and my dad...

When I think of that trip (which is often) I come back to the grayling again and again. Every evening, I stood in the river and caught as many grayling as I felt like catching. On dry flies. As many as I felt like catching. With my dad.

Got to be a favorite fish. As I've said before we often were weathered in or waiting for helis after a fire in Alaska. No, not Bristol Bay, it didn't often burn there, much farther north. Very remote rivers and very unsophisticated fish, and I know I've caught them way past 20". One actually took a Mepps Spinner tied to green fly LINE on the Koyuk River! But, I never was able to fish for them with my father, lucky you.
